【Yunnan Surroundings】Night event held in Kunming for China-Laos friendship

The “Blooming Champa” Night Event was held for the flowering China-Laos ties in central Yunnan's Kunming city on May 30, inviting in around 100 officials, journalists and university students from the two countries, who got together to talk about bilateral friendship and development.

The “Blooming Champa” Night Event takes place in central Yunnan's Kunming city on May 30.


As part of the ongoing “One River, One Family” International Cultural Exchange Series in a New Era, the night event is directed by Information Office of the People's Government of Yunnan Province, Yunnan Foreign Affairs Office and Yunnan Cyberspace Administration. It is Hosted by Yunnan Daily Press Group and Yunnan International Communication Center for South and Southeast Asia.


During the event, the China-Laos reporters who just finished a “Blooming Champa” media tour shared their reporting experiences, including those from Yunnan International Communication Center for South and Southeast Asia, Hunan Daily and Lao National Radio. Highlights of the media tour along the China-Laos railway were made into a video and displayed at the event.

Lao students from Kunming Railway Vocational and Technical College performed the Chinese and Laos songs and showed the audience how to play Sepak Takraw, a traditional ball game popular in the Lancang-Mekong countries. Several Laotians working in Yunnan shared their unforgettable experiences of studying, living, traveling and starting a business in the Chinese province.


Vansay Tavinyan, deputy head of the Publicity and Training Board of the Lao Party's Central Committee and chief editor of “Pasaxon Newspaper”, attended the event.
